Project Statement
Ghost Forest is an ongoing project that uses photography to engage with the impact of climate change on the landscape. Created in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, these photographs explore coastal forest diebacks known as ghost forests. The Mid-Atlantic region of the United States is among the areas experiencing the fastest rate of sea level rise. As sea levels rise, saltwater encroaches upon coastal areas, leading to the death of trees and the transformation of the landscape into tidal marshes.
