Ghost Forest

These photographs are part of a new body of work, Ghost Forest, documenting the impact of climate change on the landscape in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. These images from southern Maryland and its Eastern Shore explore coastal forest diebacks known as ghost forests. The mid-Atlantic is among the places in the United States where sea levels are rising at a faster level. As sea levels rise, saltwater kills coastal trees, converting the landscape into a tidal marsh.
